I am a Mac user and downloaded windows live 6.1 for mac (i previously owned window and had messenger plus live) my question is there messenger plus live for Mac users? or any other alternative? if not is there any software which can customize contacts name.

Reasons :

1- Patchou does not have a mac.
2- The apple API does not permit this.

I did find something that you might like though, it's a MESS patch for MAC. (It's honestly the only thing I was able to find)

Basicly it will let you tweak your messenger version a bit.

I tried to get a direct link but I wasn't able to do so.. It brought me back to the first page, so go to http://mess.be , go into downloads and search for mac it's at the end MESS PATCH for mac.

But you'll need Mac Messenger 5.1.1 if you want to use Mess Patch because it only works on 5.1.1.

I don't think Patchou wants to spend more time working from scratch on a new Plus! for macs, and before he did that he'd have to learn macs' language anyway...It would probably drain his energy and his time working on the Windows version.

If you want to make a version of Plus! for macs, then go ahead, just don't call it "Messenger Plus!" and acknowledge Patchou for inspiring you to make it in the first place

Well it is objective-c and Patchou codes in C++ so it wouldn't be that hard.

This topic has been discussed a number of times. If some people actually looked at the FAQ (http://msgpluslive.net/help/faq/general/#mac-version), they would know this without posting a new thread.
