Just wondering where those sound clips, or "custom emotion sounds" as plus! calls it, are stored.

Wouldn't mind using one as a SMS tone.

They are stored as .dat files in:

Windows XP/2000:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Messenger Plus!\Custom Sounds\

Windows 98/ME:
C:\Windows\All Users\Application Data\Messenger Plus!\Custom Sounds\

The folder is most likely hidden, so make the proper adjustments in your Windows Explorer to view hidden files and maps.

You can simply rename them to .MP3 (for any other format you will have to use a converter from there) but please copy them to another folder first and rename the copies. Do not rename them in the original folder or rename them back then put them back into the soundlibrary folder.

i also renamed one that wouldn't work with .mp3 to .wav and it worked.
