O.P. Links in conversations
Whenever someone types a link in an IM window and I click on it, the link doesn't open.  I just switched from IE to Firefox, so...is that stopping the links from opening, or something?  (I have MsgPlus! Live, by the way.)  When I had MsgPlus! 7.5, links would automatically open the web browser when clicked.  Now I have to open it myself.  It's not a big deal, but I'd like it to open on its own.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!  I looked through all the options and found nothing that would stop this from happening.

Hey,

Your browser should not stop you clicking links. I would suggest it is your computer or connection. Is your computer particularly slow, and is your connection dialup-based?

I find double clicking can work relatively well. Also are you running another addon as well like sweetim or MessengerDiscovery?

No addons and no, my internet isn't dial-up.  Nor is my computer slow.  Double-clicking doesn't open it either.  I've tried that.  Like I said, it worked until I switched browsers and upgraded MSN...

The speed of the internet connection has got nothing to do with opening a browser.

OK so if you remove firefox, does it still do the same thing?

Also did you have it set as your default browser, I know it shouldn't make a difference but in rare cases it could be the issue. So try switcing to IE as your default browser.

It apparently was an issue with it being set as the default browser.  It's working fine now.  Thanks for the help, guys!  That was quick.

When I downloaded FF it asked if I wanted to set that as the default browser, and I said yes.  But when I went to look at the "set program access and defaults page" it had no browser set as the default.  I guess that explains it. IE was taken off default when I downloaded FF, but FF didn't set itself as the default.  Oh well.  At least it's working now. :)

Well try now setting Firefox as your default browser in the "set program access and defaults" and see if it still works as well. For it not to have one defined, meant it was a little confused.

It still works with Firefox as the default.  It just got confused when nothing was set.  That also explains why gmail notifier wasn't working.

Anyway, thanks again. :)
