Hello!

I just found this a couple of minutes ago and probably everybody knows about it but anyway i want to say it because i havent found anything related on the web:

There is a diference if you send an offline message to a contact that is:

- "Actually and absolutley offline": he will recive the messages you type when he is online the next time he logs in.

- "Set to appear offline": in you chat window anything you type will appear in red and saying something like.. "your message could not be sended or somehting.." and the contact will never recive that message.

So its like if you set your status to offline you are blocking any incoming action from your contacts.

BUT MORE INTERESTING IS THAT: you can tell if someone has turned into "appear ofline". I dont know a thing about scrips plugins and so on.. but theres gotta be a way to make a program that lets you know if someone is appearing offline using this method.

It is important to say that my version if messenger live is: 8.0.0812.00 and the contact i tested all this has the same version.

Excues my english, its not my mothr lenguaje.. hope you guys just get the idea.

It is not possible to do this due to the privacy stuffs, and the way you suggested may not always work, because sometimes, it just can't be delivered.
Plus, i am sure that there is a script somewhere that can do this type of thing already, or maybe even messenger discovery has it (although i wouldn't recommend using it, as it has a dodgy un-installer)

It used to be possible to see who is blocking you, if that helps. I haven't tried for a while but www.meebo.com always used to show who was blocking who etc etc.

Block checkers DO NOT WORK. Most of them are now disguised ways to install malware on your computer.

Yes, fair enough. They did used to work though, I'm certain of it.

Few years ago now though I guess.

this might help
slight invasion of privacy
1.install convo notifier
2. install hopper live
3 toast the person
---------------------------
in the event your subject clicks on a toast
convo note will tell you this can work but not all the time
you may want to make sure you close any conversation windows with the subject
this may work if you are being blocked

well there is a way to tell if someone is appearing offline... open a chat and if you can invite people into the conversation they are appearing offline


EDIT: just tested some more and it will only work if the person makes a connection with you.

Have you found script or something to find out when someone is appearing offline???

No... not possible...

Offline Messaging is only avaliable for your contacts, i.e., you can send Offline Messages only to people which you have in your contact list. When you tried to send an Offline message to a person which you don't have in your list, then "This message could not be sent..." message will appear. (I don't know why I wrote these)

I have tested it with someone who is appearing Offline, and I could send my Offline message to him and he received it.

About the Invite button: I have also tested that, and it didn't help me to detect if my contact really signed out or simply appeared Offline.
