I was speaking with Bigbob on the IRC channel and he recomended i post this here.

Here is the Issue, I have Tried WLM 8.0, WLM 8.1 beta, MSN Messenger 6.5 and 7.0

As soon as I install either of those the Messenger works, But as soon as I install any instance of Messenger Plus it begins Crashing and giving me the annoying "Windows Messenger has Encountered a Error and Must shut down"

I saved the data File and this is what it is

The XML file is contained in the .zip because it won't let me Attach a .XML file

Any help would be great I'm after trying the Handshaking Cache Fix and countless others.

I love the Plus! system and i would like to continue using it.

Have a go at this, but beware you will lose data such as dynamic display pics and stuff. To back them up, try this tool here

I Just Tried what you suggested, and Still receiving the same problems. So what i might just do is Reformat the Whole System, Put Media Center back on it instead of XP Pro SP2, and Start from Scratch. If it still don't work then It defintly must be a incompatibility with microsoft and Plus!.

Unfortunally i think this is my last resort, and i think i am coming close to using it.

1) Answer either (a) or (b):

   (a) Do you have sweetim or smiley central installed at the moment?

   (b) Did you ever have sweetim or smiley central installed?

2) Do you have the latest version of Both Windows Live Messenger (for 8.0 users latest is: 8.0.0812.00 and for 8.1 BETA users it is: 8.1.0168.00_ClientV8.1) and Messenger Plus! Live (version 4.11.251)?

3) Do you have something Like Windows Live One Care installed?

4) Did or do you have any scripts installed?

5) Have you used any Patches Like Mess-Patch or APatch?

6) Does it also happen with both versions of Windows Live Messenger (8.0 and 8.1)?

Yes, It occurs on Both versions

No, I have no Smiley Packs, no custom emoticons, No patches or plugins. Just basic old WLM

Right,  this is going to sound really stupid, but this used to happen to me and it was because I installed, the uninstalled Discovery live. SO have you done that?

I did try discovery Live, But it was occuring Before i tried that

OK that means that probably a trace of it is still there. If you go to your program files (usually C:\Program Files), do you still see a MessengerDiscovery folder there? If you do, exit out of messenger, delete the folder and then start messenger again.

If it still happens, what other messenger related add-ons are you using?
