Have a look at booting with usb
It DOESNT say anything about 'How can I make my USB stick bootable?' or if my motherboard is capable of doing it?

RE: How can I make my USB stick bootable?
How about you actually do some work for yourself? A quick Google search will tell you the answers for this.
As for if your motherboard supports it, you need to go in to the BIOS (Usually hitting Del, F2, F12, Escape or some other key when your computer is initially turned on - it may display a message like "To enter setup press Del") and see if in the booting options, USB is listed.
I don't have an Intel motherboard - and don't know what kind of BIOS it uses (probably Intel stuff) so I can't tell you where to look.
In regards to making it bootable, it depends on what you want to run off it - what do you want to run off it?

As Chris explained, check your BIOS to actually see if your computer supports booting up from USB in the first place. If it is not, you can't.
If you can select the boot sequence in the BIOS and USB is listed there, then the only thing you need to do is format the USB stick like you would format a floppy disk (or HDD) and making it bootable (aka installing system files on it).

Format your USB stick as you would format any other drive and tick "copy system files" or "make booteable" or whatever it is in English in the format dialog.
