I have Windows Live Messenger 8.1 and right now, it’s always minimized to the system tray (next to the clock). Is there an option that will allow me to right-click on the Messenger icon to show a menu of my contacts that I can send an IM to? I hate having to open Messenger to select a contact.
True, I should have mentioned that option. What I was hoping for is an option that doesn't display any pop up windows; just a right-click menu off the icon.
That is currently not an option, then only way is to use the pop up that is created when you use 'rightclick icon in systray > send an instant message'

If you use Messenger Plus!, then you can use the Contacts on Desktop feature.
