It either seems you are confusing some things, or either use the proper names of programs to avoid confussion.
So to make sure:
Messenger Plus! is not an instant message program.
MSN Messenger and
Windows Live Messenger are instant messaging programs.
Messenger Plus! is an
addon for
MSN Messenger or
Windows Live Messenger. It is not a standalone application. It needs
MSN Messenger or
Windows Live Messenger. It will only add some new features. So you still will be using and chatting with
MSN Messenger or
Windows Live Messenger.
