Ive been trying to find the icons images for wlm but can't seem to find them anywhere. The ones im looking for are the staus icons and offline message icons. Along with some custom ones which have been added like the recieved file folder and settings icon.

RE: Icons location
Sharing Folder Icons:
fsshext.8.1.0178.00.dll
Live Call icon:
softphone.dll
livecall.exe
Device Manager/msgrdvmn.exe
WLMsgr Icons:
msgsres.dll
msnmsgr.exe
Windows Live:
msvsui.dll
Misc:
wmv9vcm.dll
Device Manager/dpinst.exe

Use program like IconLover to extract them out.

Edit: Unfortunately I've no idea where the status icons are located.

RE: Icons location
The status icons are saved as a bitmap resource in msgsres.dll. They are not seperate icons.

You'll need a resource extractor (like Resource Hacker) and a paint program to get them and convert them to icons.

Hi all! I've found the dlls, extracted them, and changed them as you told , but as i save it, it creates a xy_original.dll, and uses that instead. If I change that too, it creates xy_original_original.dll. Any ideas what can cause this?
