Cookie has a point, Easter isn't about chocolate guys

easter is about jesus rising from the dead

A recent surrvey in Scotland showed that many people associate Easter with eggs and bunnies and don't know the meaning of Easter It was worse in the 18 - 25 age group (unfortunately I DON'T fall into this).

same here....

on tv this evening: "Q: what does easter stand for?", someone said: "birthday of the easter bunny"

PS: did you know the chocolate stuff, bunnies and stuff actually come from the non-christian celebration of spring and stand cymbol for renewel etc (thus in parallel with Jesus resurrection), 'easter' also comes from the name of the goddess of dawn.

And this year Easter is even very special since both the orthodox christians and catholics, and Jews celebrate easter on the same date (all use a different calender)

Yeah, it's a pagan festival. I'm sure the godess name was Oester or something. I remember that it begins with a O (if memory serves me right). But it's the same with everything these days (easter, Christmas etc.) it's all become too comercialised..
