80 minutes for CD quality audio... but if your CD player plays MP3s then you can burn it as a data CD with the MP3s on it and get all 750 minutes worth.

The quality won't improve by making it into an audio disc (the quality can't come out of nowhere), but if your cd player doesnt support mp3 playback then unfortunately you're restricted to the maximum you can fit on an audio disc (~80mins) :(

smaller bit rate = smaller file size = lower quality

So you can fit much more than ~80 mins on the CD. The 80min guide is at CD quality, which is a lot higher bit rate, thus bigger file size meaning less fits onto one CD.

Therefore, you can put as many mp3s on there as you like (until all 700mb is used up)

But if your CD player doesn't support mp3s it won't work and isn't worth the hassle :P

I suggest getting a CD player which supports mp3s or buying an mp3 player. (eg - iPod, or similar)

If you take a 96 kbps mp3 and reencode it to 128 kbps, the quality won't actually be the same, it will be less. Also, if you take a 128 kbps mp3, and edit a period of it, then reencode it to a 128 kbps mp3, the quality if the whole stream will be less, not just the edited part.

If you want to play your music through your stereo, you might try getting a portable CD player and connecting that with your stereo system that plays mp3, very cheap, and then you can burn lots on one CD and use the same CD in your computer. Or maybe your DVD player already plays mp3s if that's with your stereo.
