Hello,

My friend uses Windows Messenger and I use Live Messenger. Although I sent him an invitation to Live, he is unable to install it.  I can only see him online with Windows Messenger but not on Live Messenger...

Why is that and do I have to use Windows Messenger to be able to chat with him?

of course you can chat with you on WLM and you friend on windows messenger.

Can he not install it because he is not using xp or vista. what OS does he/she have?

this mean when he is online with windows messenger you can't see him when you in windows live messenger? if so then never heard of that one before, may just be a server bug.

I don't know why your friend can't install WLM but you don't need to us e Windows Messenger to chat to him.

It's very wird indeed!  I sen't 2 invitations, one from Windows Messenger, one from Live. Did not get any.

In WLM, his contact is offline. In WM, his contact is online...

He is using windows Xp Pro.  cannot install live messenger because of company rules
