Hello. I'm not sure I get what you're talking about exactly; do you mean an external hard drive or an internal one? Would you please provide a model number if it is an external one you're talking about. Thanks.

In any case, I am unaware of a software solution to stop lights flashing on an external hard drive.

Assuming you mean the power and hard drive activity lights on the front of your computer case, you can very easily disconnect them from the motherboard.  I don't think there is any way to turn them off via software.

Or do you mean the HDD Activity light on the front of the PC case?

Edit: Adeptus loses

The hardrive case, you know, the big rectangular thing:p, umm its model matrix2premier, form mesh, if that helps.

The big rectangular hard drive case? The hard drive is the thing inside the case which stores your shit. The big case you see is not a hard drive, unless it's external, which would not be that "big".

What you're referring to is not a "hard drive" or "hard drive case", a hard drive is a device inside your desktop computer which stores data magnetically.

In order to get your desktop computer to stop flashing lights you would have to disconnect the lights manually, afaik it can not be done with any software or setting. Sorry about that.

If you really want them off just stick some blu-tack over them, then they're as good as off.

I really would not recommend doing that, there'll be a proper way to disconnect the wires if he is truly determined. However, I personally think the Blu-Tack idea is the easiest, that way the light is as good as off and it's easily reversible.
