My laptop is on the blink and I would really like to save my chat history on a new laptop either by saving it to a CD or transferring it to word. However, I can't seem to find the chat history file. Also, when I tried to copy and paste, it won't allow me to do it.
Does anyone know if there is a way to transfer these files or save them to a CD? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What if it is not Messenger Plus? I believe I just have Windows Live Messenger. Are they still stored in a similar file for Windows Live Messenger (free version)?
the username is the front part of your email address, followed by a bunch of numbers, by default. check for the exact path by going to Tools > Options > Messages and look at the bottom of the window
