Hi,

I had a weird chat log error. When I tried to open my contact's chat log(only this one cannot open), MP!L gave me this message (see attachment word doc in Chinese) Basically, the error message was saying that

"some errors occur when I tried to open my encrypted chat log file, please restart or use other computer."

I have tried to look for related chat log errors on the forum, but I didn't find any threads give me a solution to this problem. But, the most weird thing is that I can open all my other contact's chat log except this one. So, I was not quite sure whether this problem is a bug or not. If you know how to fix it, please let me know.

Don't you have Paint on your computer? It is pretty strange to post a .doc file for a screen shot. Anyway

That specific chat log file may be corrupted. Did you try to open it on another computer? If it can't open on another computer too, probably it was corrupted.

Just install Messenger Plus! on any other computer and try to open your chat log again.

Note: if this is the only chat log on yoru comptuer that faisl to open, then it is simply corrupted and cannot be recovered completely.

can I delete that chat log and start a new one. Can I do that by delete that chat log and reinstall MP!L?

You don't need to reinstall MP!L. Just delete that file if you couldn't open it on another computer too, and Plus! will create a new log file for your contact when you start a new chat with him/her.

I deleted the chat log file, and Plus!live create a new log file for my contact. But, at first, I was able to open my encrypted chat log file, when I want to open up the file again, the same problem occurs. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Isn't this problem occurring on other log files really?

It may be not only for that specific contact, but it may occur for every new log files (For example, after something you installed/uninstalled to/from your computer). For example, try to create a new log file for a totally new contact. Then try to open it.

I don;t think it's that ahmetgns... Is this happening only with this contact? If so.. the only thing i can think of is something in their nickname messing up the chatlog.... Can you try and delete the corrupt  chatlog and set a custom nickname for that contact, to see if it happens again?
