I always used the lock msn function, it always worked fine, but today, whe i locked it, the password was wrong, and i couldn't open it again, now i can't open my saved conversations nor open my msn if it locks...

My question is, is there a way of reseting the password?

Change your Messenger Lock password from Messenger Plus! Preferences. If your Messenger is locked now, simply log off Windows, and re-login and change or disable the password option for Messenger Lock in Messenger Plus! Preferences.

Thats the problem, the password dosen't work, i type, exactly like ive always done like a billion times, but this time it doesn't work...


When i go to Plus!>Options, it also requires a password, is that where the preferences are?

exit Messenger completely

Start > Run > regedit

navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Patchou\Messenger Plus! Live\<email address>\Preferences

edit EnablePreferencesLock > set it to 0
delete PreferencesLockPwd

restart Messenger
