ok, this has started happening randomly now, when i get a new message from someone, it beeps but doesn't make the button flash saying who has sent a message, disabling all my scripts didnt work, does anyone have any idea why this is happening? other programs still flash like that

It's a function of A-Patch and Messenger Discovery and other plugins. Have you they?

i havn't been able to get discovery to work but i kept some of my install to stop WLM having a spaz about not being able to find messenger disocvery.dll

try disabling tabbed chat
