In messenger left in the top there is an email icon "email post in".
If I push this icon nothing happens.

This may be due to the fact that hotmail is not available with the account ID you have. Is your account an @hotmail account? I have an account that is a Windows Live ID but hotmail is not available for it.

My email ID was not a hot mail ID but I have changed it now and it works.
