O.P. Looking for a Hard Drive
So I'm in the market for a new hard drive. What I'm looking at is either a Seagate Barracuda or WD Caviar, both 7200 320Gb. WD is $2 more, but that is irreverent, mostly. Looking for opinions on what manufacturer to take.
I cannot hear you. There is a banana in my ear.

RE: Looking for a Hard Drive
Both have worked perfectly fine in the past for me, although i like WD better, for some reason

RE: Looking for a Hard Drive
We had a 80GB WD HDD that lasted about 5 years and we used that computer quite a lot. I think I've only ever used WD and I find them good (been waiting for the raptors to come down in price personally ).

Seagate, Im only saying that because I have never used a WD. My Seagate has been on 24/7 for 10 months now, and still works like its brand new

RE: Looking for a Hard Drive
Both "Barracuda" and "Caviar" sound a little fishy.

was put impeccably into words at DebianDay for me last Saturday, by Knut Yrvin of Trolltech - adults try something once, fail, and then are like "ffs this doesn't work". Children try, fail, and then try again, and succeed - maybe on the second, or even fifth retry. But the thing is that they keep at it and overcome the problems in the end.
