When I connect to someone, in an attempt to chat using video, they can see themselves (in the preview screen), they can hear me and they can see me.
I can see myself (in the preview screen), I can hear them BUT instead of seeing their video, I just get the 'green man' icon next to a picture of a camera with a line through it (see the attached screen dump).
I know their camera is on, as they can see themselves.
I know my camera is working as both they and I can see me.
I now the connection is up, as we can hear each other.
Is the problem at my end (receiving images) or theirs (sending images)?
How can I locate the issue?
Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

In order:
1) No idea - neither of us know anyone else who has a webcam
2) Ditto
3) Not sure what you mean, here? What does sending webcam entail?
4) Yes, definitely

RE: Messenger - Audio works, video doesn't
for the first question, you don't need to know any other contacts who have a webcam.....your friend just need to send their webcam to another contact to find out if they can see the picture, this will enable you to partially find out whether it is a fault on their end, or a fault on your end
sending webcam is not the same as having a video conversation
