They won't change it because people without Plus will no longer have nicknames. What they should IMO is to let add-ins access the nicknames to read/write

It is already as far as only two clicks MSN Messenger 7.0 and Messenger Plus! Live - Old Download

I'm considering options to bring some of the old nickname feature of Plus! back into WLM.

Sounds like the next release is gonna be pretty good

not for the next release though, sorry, I've done enough in it already, I won't add more features to it

i do believe it is, msgplus 4.50 is expected early november at the latest
