O.P. Sound at signing-in as offline
Hi there,

I have created a sound notification if someone in my Live Messenger signs in.
But will there also a sound be played when the corresponding contact signs in if he chose the option "show as offline" (or however this option's called in English)?
I ask because I think that happened already sometimes but I think, this would be a bit senseless.

I were really glad if someone could help me!

Best regards
Dominic

There should be no sound when someone signs in as appear offline. Are you sayin there was? If so how did you know that person didn't sign in online then changed to appear offline?

If it happens again you can check the Event Viewer (Plus > Display Event Viewer).

Because no pop-up was shown when the sound was playing.

Next time I'll check.

And another interesting thing: if someone has activated "What I'm listening to" (or so) in status bar, he's online but also "appear offline" you can see that he's online when you go to the contact information, there you can see in the last events that the music changed ;)

ooh :( I shouldn't have told you that, I think it's a nice "feature" and not a "BUG" :D

This doesn't always happen, it seems to be a bug with Messenger setting the status to online before setting them to appear offline, it's not Plus! related and sometimes happens with the normal WLM online toasts (when you click on it and see that the person is actually offline).

;-)

I bumped this thread, just to make something clear:

http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=78...d=865483#pid865483

In the above thread, you will see what the real problem is. I don't know if this has been fixed in 4.50 because I still avoid creating such an -only sound- notification for people sign-in (indeed I didn't read anything about this bug in Changelog, maybe there is nothing to fix for Plus! side of the bug]. If you still continue having this problem, disable the event ntofication you have set, or edit it like that it will also show a toast to you (this kind of notification has not been reported for any problem), if you do this second thing, you may want to disable Windows Live Messenger's own sign-in toasts in order not to see two toast windows for each contact signs-in.
