Help!
No time to waste, I need a solution urgently.
I just updated my mobile phone's firmware and BOOM, all of my contacts, photos, MP3 and smses have been deleted.
Is there a software/program that allow retrieving back all those? I googled and can't find any... Help!

RE: Retrieve back Contacts from my phone
I can help you get back your contacts, depending on the circumstances.

If you saved them to your sim card you can copy them back over onto the phone by doing the following:

Menu > Contacts > More > Options > Sim Contacts

Now if there's nothing there then there will be no need to follow this next step because there's nothing there to copy over.

Menu > Contacts > More > Options > Advanced > Copy From Sim

Sorted :)

However it all depends if you backed up everything to your sim.

Thanks nathan, but unfortunately, ALL of my contacts were stored in phone memory, and none of them are stored in my sim card.

Did you use SEUS to update?
SEUS never deletes files/contacts unless you are updating a smartphone.

I don't think there is anything you can do to retrieve your contacts, unless you only synchronized your contacts with Outlook or something similar.

You may be able to retrieve some of your files stored in your phone memory. Connect your phone to your computer (using the USB cable) and select File Transfer Mode. Then use a data recovery program like R-Studio or GetDataBack and try to recover your files...

I would imagine it's impossible if you've done an "unofficial" upgrade, as what that basically does is re-initialize the phones file system, and in the process erases the file allocator tables - ie the phone doesn't know where they're stored any more.

Also, as far as I'm aware, the contacts on the K800i are stored in the flash memory rather than the fs (which is what you are given access to when you plug it in via USB). This means that standard recovery tools such as R-Studio which Mike mentioned won't be of any help.

Let this be a lesson to you: Download MyPhoneExplorer and synchronise it all the time! :)

so does it mean that it is still stored somewhere in the flash memory of the phone and may still be retrievable?

Possibly, but not without some heavy-duty forensic tools
