O.P. Problems upgrading to wlm 8.5, same problem when using Windows Update

I tried to upgrade to wlm 8.5 today & it just dies after 5 minutes or so saying it was not installed...
I also noticed it does this with windows update...
I did a repair & it fixed nothing.
(win xp pro sp2)

Did you tried using Windows Live Installer? (Untick all the options)
