Okay so have you ever set an emoticon (say ) to something like oe (for example) and then youve tried to say shoe and sh has come up?

Well Obviously there isnt a practical way to check if the word the emoticon is in is actually in a word but is there a way to say if you type a letter before or after the emoticon without a space then dont display the emoticon?

change custom emoticons so that instead of being oe it's (oe)

ie, put all custom emoticons in brackets if they are just letters/words which could give you the problem described

or you could just put..

/noicon shoe

and that removes the emoticon and just displays the full word instead of replacing letters with the emoticon.

not to mention that your suggestion is far more time consuming and needs the person to remember every single combination of their emoticons.

my way doesn't need them to remember anything when they're typing as normal, which is how it should be
