I installed windows live messenger and latest plus version. Chat logs are saved as normal. However, when I open them they should open in internet explorer like normal.

When I click on them, they are blocked and I dont see them open. Does it have to do something with windows security ot firewall? Seems like it does not give access to internet explorer to open and show them

Please advise.

Try this;

Right click on one then open with.
Messsengerplus tools.
Tick the box "always open ......"
Ok.

It actually does open for a millisecond in internet explorer and the window just vanishes. i can see a list of chat logs, even where i am saving them. But Internet explorer is not opening them.

What shall I do now?

Restore IE's Advanced Options to their defaults. And what about trying to open them with Messenger Plus! Live's built-in Log Viewer. For example, does the same problem occurs when you right click on one contact, select "Messenger Plus! Features>Open Chat Log..."?

If you have other web browser like Mozilla Firefox, try opening your logs with them.
