i've used plus on a friend's computer before, and i'd hit ctrl+space to hide it. then i'd hit shift+ctrl+space to make it come back.

now, i hit ctrl+space to hide it on my computer, but shift+ctrl+space doesn't do anything. it's gone!

i've tried opening it again, but after i click on it nothing happens. has this happened to anyone else? any advice?

it will change messenger's system tray icon to something less conspicuous, either disable the option to do so, change the icon to something you will reognise or make a note of the new icon

Well try pressing ctrl + space. Try double clicking the icon and holding the ctrl button.
