I am running Messenger 8.5 and Messenger Plus 4.50. I want to change the colour of my name from default black to red. I go into TOOLS, OPTIONS then FORMAT CODES and change it to red but all my contacts say that my name is still showing in black and is showing the codes at the start and end of my name. How can I correct this annoying problem?

I even tried downloading this -

but this is having the same problem. All contacts see are the codes that are used and no change of name colour.

With the codes, sorry. So I can see if you've made a mistake with the codes, which would explain why it isn't working.

Your contacts also need to have MP!L installed to see the colours.

Arhhh well that will be the problem then. My contacts dont have Messenger Plus Live installed!! Is there a way of changing colours even if they dont have it installed?

I'm afraid not. You'll need to ask them to install MP!L in order to see any colours. http://www.msgpluslive.net
