Score isn't worth much tbh, I still wish they'd list it next to computers in stores though
I only have a base score of 3.7 because of ATI X1600 512MB , If I had the latest greatest my base would/could be 5.4, which even then is a 6GHz processor, its just a statistic to make people jealous or inferior and sell more hardware.
I've yet to find a game that doesn't run fine on my system

After researching the X3100, it turns out that it's actually not that crap. It supports DirectX 10 - which means it has to meet a certain minimum spec (like Shader Model 3.0 and Hardware T&L, etc).
Yeah, it would have DX10 though, because it has vista, and to get the potential from aero you need DX10.
To play games on a laptop at a decent framerate, you will need a dedicated (usually) graphics card.
If you have the money, and want a desktop replacement go here:

Yeah I have the ATI x1600 and it's a good card, and mines nearly 2 years old now, I have even completed crysis on it at 20-30fps

As far as I'm aware, Aero is written using DirectX9 function calls and hence it will make no difference whatsoever if you're using a Dx10 card or not.

Would run fine on low-medium. I'm using 2 of the latest Gfx cards and I only get ~40fps on Very High DX10.

Andrew is correct here and I have no idea what the below has to do with Aero.
