Hi all,

It may not be the place to post this but I really need to know this:


How can I know if someone who I added some time ago, added me to his list, since I can see his ID and whatever he writes or changes regarding his status.

Indeed, this is a pure Messenger question and not really related to Messenger Plus! (although you can see this too in Messenger Plus!), so it should have been posted in MSN/Windows (Live) Messenger.

Since you can see his status and all, he has you in his 'Allow List'.

But to know of he has also added you to his 'Contact List' you need to check your 'Reverse List'.


In Messenger you have several lists:

- the Contact list, which shows all the contacts you have added
Accessed by opening the main window of Messenger

- the Allow list, which shows all the contacts which can contact you and see your status
Accessed by going to main menu > Tools > Options > Privacy

- the Block list, which shows all the contacts which you do not want to see your status nor contact you
Accessed by going to main menu > Tools > Options > Privacy

- the Reverse list, which shows all the contacts who have added you to their contact list.
Accessed by going to main menu > Tools > Options > Privacy > Who has added you


Note: A combination of all these lists can also be seen in Messenger Plus! by going to main menu > Plus! > Contact List Clean-Up.
In the last column ("Has You") of that dialog you'll see if someone has added you or not.

Also if you have Messenger Plus! Live 4.50+, go that contact's Contact Info window (not contact card of WLM) and it will show what you wonder. Contact Info window can be opened from many places:

1. Open contact's contact card, click on Additional Options and select "Contact Information..."
2. Right click on the contact in your contact list, select "Messenger Plus! Features>Contact Information..."
3. In a conversation window type /ctcinfo contact's email and send it (*you must have enabled Plus! commands)
4. In that contact's convo window, press and select Contact Information...
5. In conversation window's Plus! menu>Contact Information...
