Hi guys, i've been using MsgPlus! without problems but today i read an Italian blog talking about a security issue (see also), so I downloaded the current/newest version of MsgPlus! (4.60.326) but unfortunately I couldn't install that version

I've taken a look at Changelog but i didn't found nothing related to Plus! 4.60.326, yet .
I've already tried a solution that Kafman posted (in the spanish forums) without luck... *see the second screenshot*


and also, i noticed that the newest version's installer is missing a text...

No SweetIM and/or SmileyCentral  installed


I had to install MsgPlus!Live 4.60.0.324 again...

I stand corrected likely was released today because of the XSS bug.

It installed fine here for me.

Anyway, I didn't have any problem installing .326:
Windows XP Service Pack 3 (5.1.2600)
Windows Live Messenger 8.5.1018
Messenger Plus! Live 4.60.0.326

However, I was reading that article (Google translator ftw!) and it seems that MPL! has a huge security hole (probabably bs) and that the autor of that post contacted Patchou explaining the bug, and that Patchou replied saying that there's not big deal with that bug, that he will fix it in the next version, however, the autor of the post claims that there is still the bug in this new version.

I don't beleive this, this italian guy is trying to get attention only.

there was a possible problem indeed but the guy who blogged about it blew it out of proportion. Nevertheless, one can never be too cautious so I released a patch today to make sure everything stays smooth until the next real update is made public.

As for the problem originally described in this post, try to reboot your computer and redownload the setup file, just to be sure.

just to confirm, I downloaded Plus! 4.60.326 today but the installer threw a 8004a error so I did a quick search and found a solution...  and now, it's solved.
