This is what it says but I've installed the two versions of the new messengers you are talking about I might try uninstalling the whole thing and trying again when i have the time lol

Well, your contactlist doesn't look like Live Messenger 8.5 either. Looks like you're using an old version of Windows Live Messenger, which explains the problem.

See this screenshot:

Live Messenger 8.1 is on the left, Live Messenger 8.5 is on the right. Looks like you are using Live Messenger 8.1.

Download the latest version of Live Messenger, after you installed version 8.5 the skin should work.

weird... id already tried installin that hmmmmm lol gonna have to try agen i guess lol, on my laptop now gonna see if i have the same prob or not

well skins work on my laptop, got a feeling that the one install you want me to install isnt working properly with this computer or there's something weird going on haha thanks for you help guys

What OS are you running exactly on the computer where it doesn't work?

Open a conversation window and type (!VER)

Include the brackets and use capitals. Copy or screenshot the result.

and now my msn isnt letting me change my name, I keep going to change it, I type it in and as soon as i have clicked apply and ok it goes back to how it was before

As stated before, you are running verison 8.1, not 8.5 which is why you are getting the incompatibility messages

Go here to download version 8.5 and then the skin should work

Installing 8.5 might fix this

It's k I sorted it out anyway and it was working before 8.5 anyway and i still havent managed to install it I havet had the time anyway thanks for the help....
