I have seen that some contacts of mine use to put a drawing on their nickname or personal message.

How do I do that ?

It is done using punctuation and symbols, i believe if you search you may find some websites which offer these to copy and paste into your screenname/personal message

perhaps try asking your contacts who have them where they got them from
