O.P. [Request] Listening music together without the need of a mic.
I want to know if a script could send the actual sounds of the MP3 file I'm listening to with WMP to the person I'm chatting with, so we both can listen the music at the same time without me having to use the speakers and the mic.

:)

Im not sure if i understood fully what you want, but the Music Now Playing script allows you to send the song your listening to, to the person you are chatting with iirc.
You have the intellect comparable to that of a rock. Be proud.

This would not be a function of WLM or msgplus at all, but rather the driver for your sound card. Look in the properties for recording devices, and look for an audio source named stereo mix, or what you hear. You also might have to run the audio and video setup wizard within WLM (Under the Tools menu) to choose the correct audio source.

Good luck!

Thanks.

What does the /sendsong command do?

I'm looking for a script that can allow the contact that I'm chatting with to listen through his or her speakers the song I'm playing.

Wasn't there an activity Microsoft made that allowed you to share music with friends like that?

EDIT: Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what Music Mix does (Activities > Music Mix)

Thanks for your answers.

It seems like Music Mix isn't available for every country.

What your proposing is to disguise the audio from my computer as the audio from the mic. so I can send it through messenger?

If so... Could you explain a bit more about how could I do this? I don't really know that much about computers.

Well, its dependant on your sound card and the driver for it, and may not be available to you. To check what is available, you can go to the properties for the recording device through volume control

Assuming windows XP:
double-click volume control in the system tray OR Start > Run > sndvol32
go to options > properties
Choose the Recording radio box. If its greyed out, you might have to change the mixer device from the dropdown above.

Here's what I have listed:

On mine, all I have to do is un-mute the entry for Stereo Mix and mute the mic, and voila! whats played on the speakers is available to the recording device
