What do you think of the game this year? Has it improved or not? Does the Champions League mode fulfill the expectations? Is Become a Legend the mode that will stand out this year?

PES is a game that has been impressive to a lot of people over the last few years, but i think this year FIFA 09 has won this battle, the Be A Pro: Seasons feature of FIFA is absolutely fantastic, and the players seem to move a lot more freely than previous years, so personally i would go for FIFA 09 and not PES, but its your decision i suppose.

Looks cool.I like reality(player faces,names,team shirts etc) but L1+triangle really hurts you know

I haven't bought Fifa 09 nor PES yet. I don't know which one to get. Champions league play sounds awesome the only thing that puts me off is the lack of licensing of the teams (the last Pro Evo I played had the players names as 'Oranges') It may be different now.
Fifa 09 sounds good because you can customize  the controls, although you can't create a completely new team on the PS3.

I may get both I'm not sure

it's not different, the only licenses they have are liverpool and man utd.  it's never gonna change.

fifa has always been the best and at last it's converting a lot of the pro evo fanboys...pro evo are even having to nick modes off fifa just to try and compete....graphically they've always been miles behind and the implentation of the rules is farcical

the only thing that has been marginally better in past years is the smoothness of the gameplay......but since they screwed up the physics in 2008 the gameplay was just shot and fifa stormed ahead last year (but only in terms of people starting to realise that pro was naff)

bottom line: fifa always has and always will be the best

I'm renting Fifa 09 and I can say I'm impressed. Good game. Haven't played PES.

I got is yesterday and I found it way better than last year's PES. The goals are even more realistic and the Become a Legend mode is impressive and challenging.

But anyway, ive never been  a fan of football games but having played both PES09 and Fifa09 I have to say that i prefer Fifa, not only because of the full licensing of all teams but i just fellthe gameplay is so much smoother. (xbox 360 btw)
One thing i hate fifa for removing, is the fifa 05 style free kicks. They just ownd!!!
