My friend recorded video on a video camera that put the data on a disc but its in the format used for DVDs. How can I convert the DVD to a mpeg file?

Sorry if I have phrased this incorrectly and thanks for your help in advance.

I use Amadis occasionally for DVD ripping, seems to do the job pretty well

Is the disc that it put out an actual dvd (so if you put it in a dvd player it plays) or is it a file in some other format?

Its a disc that you put in a DVD or if you put it into a computer it , go to my computer it has a disc icon with the letters DVD. Plus i think when you explore the disc it has .bup files or something.

Try Amadis then, that should do the job nicely

DVD is MPEG... You can generally drag the VOB files to your favourite media player if they're not encrypted.
