Those programs aren't installed.

Here's my add/remove programs list. There is quite a lot of stuff.

By the look of your add/remove programs list, you have an HP computer.
I have an HP laptop and I'm having the same problem so maybe it's HP related?

Could it be the bundled software?

I've noticed you both have 'ThreatFire'

can you try uninstalling that and Messenger Plus! Live, then re-install Messenger Plus! Live and see if it behaves properly

GENIUS! It worked. As soon as I installed it, all Plus! buttons disappeared. Uninstalled it, restarted Windows Live Messenger and everything is back to normal.

i also have the new version of the windows live messenger (2009) and Messenger Plus! live and i have the same problem like the others had.... i also tried your solutions, but it didn't work at all... i have to say that i have not "threatfire". i also uninstalled windows live messenger and Messenger Plus live a thousand times-.- but it didn't help.
maybe you have another idea, why it does not work...

Please post a screenshot of all your programs in Add/Remove programs as all the others have done.

here are two screenshots to show you that the plus! buttons are missing and my name is just partly displayed colored

Yes I understand your problem but what Im asking for is a screenshot of your Add/Remove programs "Programs & Features in Vista" to have a look at your programs to know if there are any programs that may conflict with Plus!.

Thank you Moh, DannyP and 'Spunky'. Uninstalling TheadFire worked for me too.
