Can Windows 7 GUI be customized to look like XP?

Why don't you simply use Windows XP instead?

What XP mode are you looking for anyway? The default theme, or classic mode?

Microsofts post-XP OSes are all about eye-candy anyway, so what's the point of an XP theme?

I think that the Windows XP GUI is much simpler, leaner, resource saving than Vista/7. I always use the XP Classic GUI. I was asking about the GUI only, no doubt that Vista or 7 are more advanced, superior OS's than XP.

if so, right click on desktop > Personalize > Select Windows Classic



then you just need to have the taskbar fixes up but im sure you should be able to do that

note: this doesnt make the taskbar go on the left... thats just how i like it...

Don't think thats exactly what he is asking for but, if your after resource saving just use the "Basic" theme that comes with 7/Vista. Because as far as i know there isn't even a XP Visual Style yet for 7.
