I purchased the Microsoft webcam, only to find out that it's not compatible with the Yahoo Messenger, which happens to be where all my friends hang out. Okay, so I can invite them over to Live Messenger. But, what is the Microsoft equivalent of the Yahoo invitation to view my webcam? Can't find it!!

Under your display picture in the conversation window you will have a webcam icon.
Only icons (2) are for emoticons and background.

Or under Tools or the Actions menu
All I get is a "None of your contacts are available...." This is true whether I head into Tools or Actions with the webcam off or whether I first activate the webcam with the desktop icon. Doesn't make any difference. It's also true when a friend is online and we're trying to get the webcam going.
look at the two webcam icons to the left of the display pictures, that's what you're looking for.
if they aren't showing up, then your webcam isn't configured properly.
click 'Tools' then 'Audio and video setup...' and try to configure it
Yes, I'm missing the webcam icon. I went through the Audio and Video Setup window and everything checked out fine. I'm using the latest version of Messenger and a Microsoft webcam with Vista.
I've submitted a help request through Messenger Help.
Thank you for trying to help. I really do appreciate it.
