Hi everyone, I'm having a daily problem chatting with my friend on MSN / Windows Live Messenger. I believe she uses MSN Messenger the one before the upgrade to WLM.

I use WLM, and sometimes when I message her it'll go through and she'll receive it but when she sends a message back I don't get it. I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with my WLM because everyone else on my list responds and I get theirs fine no problems.

To fix this my friend repeatedly has to log out and log back in which I really don't want to stress her with doing daily just because of me. If anyone knows a fix for this or what may be causing it please do post.

For a fix I've added her on my Yahoo! ID and have been chatting with her through that. Thanks for all help.

Erm... this looks more or less like an Internet connection problem... =\ I do not believe the Messenger Protocol used for MSNM7.5 would suddenly screw up and become unstable when establishing a connection with a higher version of the Messenger Protocol... both protocols use the same feature: instant text messaging; so the problem is not from her Messenger, nor is it from yours, it is from her internet connection, or at least, I believe so.

I thought it might be her net connection but here's where it gets weird. She says it's only me that she can't reply to sometimes or that she can reply to but I won't see.

Which complicates it even more, I am quite puzzled now, as it is not (as far as I can tell...) the serverside's fault. It's either from your or her internet connection. Did she try deleting you and then re-adding you again, just to verify whether it's the serverside or her WLM?

I don't think she's tried deleting and re-adding me.

it seems this problem is pretty widespread at the moment and nothing is being done about this.
