Note, I'm not entirely against the idea, but I am providing warning.
The MTCC has multiple exits (a south and north side) and on the north side (this is the bigger side that faces Front Street) it can get very crowded during Fan Expo. However, the inner lobby there has plenty of space and would work fine as a meeting place.
Another option is to meeting at CBC across the street, as there would be far less foot traffic over there, clear enterance etc.
Yet another option is to make use of Union just next door, especially meeting in the great hall by Harvey's. That's been my standard spot for meeting people when they come to Toronto in the past and it works well.
