hi! im having trouble signing in on my laptop. I can sign in on my pc, blackberry etc. But it wont let me sign in on the laptop, other users can log in without any trouble. What is wrong???

What happens when you try to sign in?

Do you get any error codes?

i have this laptop for a year and was always able to log in, when i use other log in id's it works normally. When i log in with my own email the whole programs hangs. it does nothing anymore. I tried to uninstall and reinstall it but nothing changes. I dont have any add-ons that i know off, but even so, it used to work perfectly and so it does even now with other users. But i can still use my own email on other pc's.

Try using the latest version of Windows Live Messenger (Build 14.0.8089.726). It can be downloaded from here.

i did that just now, it still wont work with my email. I realized that as soon as i enter to log in, the programs hangs, it doesnt even like try to log in, it just hangs as soon as i enter or click.

Try following these steps:

To try and fix that you can clear out the contact cache as follows:
- Exit WLMessenger
- Delete the two folders corresponding with your address in the following folders:
Windows XP:
%userprofile%\contacts
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts
Windows Vista:
%userprofile%\contacts
%localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts

These folders may be hidden so make sure you turn on hidden folders first.

To navigate to these folders Press + R on your keyboard, then copy in the links above
