The Event Viewer can't record that my friends have signed in
but other events (sign outs, status changes, display name and personal messages changes) are ok

the function is ok in the past
I haven't changed anything

how to solve it?

Same here. I was just about to post a thread about this. I got used to having this option and now it's getting kinda annoying not to be able to see the time of signing in. And I haven't changed any of my options either. 

Are you running Windows Live Messenger 8(.5)? If so, a fix is coming in a few days. (see Patchou's reply to This could be a bug , I'm not sure...)

Mine is Windows Live Messenger, version 2008, (Build 8.5.1302.1018)

The 3.83 update will be posted here when it's complete.

i am having the same problem, only sign outs are recorded.  everything worked well till a couple of weeks ago. its very annoying..please let me know if there is a fix! btw i am using 8.5

I don't get it either.  I thought a fix was suppose to come out a week ago or so, i have yet to find it. 

The new version (4.83 , and not 3.x or 5.x like some have reported ) will fix this error* but obviously this new version is a bit delayed, so please be patient and regulary check the official site http://www.msgpluslive.net/download/.

Also remember that release times of software are _always_ depending on various things and can _always_ be delayed.




* It is not realy an error on Plus!' part though. The peoples at MS have apparently changed the communication protocol a bit recently. This means that Plus! didn't/doesn't reconize the logins anymore, and thus those events aren't logged anymore. The new version of Messenger Plus! will be compatible with it again so that those events are again logged properly.
