My enter button on my laptop is broken and I still want to be able to chat with MSN Messenger version 9. Is there a shortcut to send a message in the chat box or is hitting the enter button the only way to send someone a message? I've searched everywhere and found absolutely nothing. Thank you.

Yep, enter is the only "native" way.
BUT you can use either the virtual keyboard that comes with windows, or use skins such as My Live or Avalon Concept to re-add the send button
