I've been wondering for a while why that hasn't happened yet. I'm surprised, seeing the amount of developers here, that people haven't at least attempted it. I realize that there are loads of alternative solutions out there, but with such a big community already, a new client built by users from here would probably become very popular (and the availability for user input from here would make it a great client). I'd use it for sure (mac compatibility? Anyone?).

That little grey/blue icon up the top right near the Options button says to me that maybe you can shut off the left side, perhaps completely, But I guess the ads will still have to be removed by the usual way... I wonder what's happened to the chat window, ad-wise. I hope it's still a text ad.

EDIT: Yeah, mynetx says on the blog post linked to above that "This window split can be reverted using the button on the top right edge." So that's at least a bit of good news I guess

Looks a lot like he current wave, which IMO is a good thing, let them focus on functionality instead of a new look when we just got used the the current look . Also no more second window in the taskbar preview thingie. Not sure this build is newer than what Neowin posted.
