I am looking for a very simple, but effective mail server for windows that I can use with PHP, and all I need to be able to do is have 1 account, with SMTP/IMAP access. I tried hMailServer, and it worked for some time, but now, it just will not open, even after multiple re-installs. Anyone got any suggestions?

A few years ago when I was still hosting with Windows, I used ArgoSoft Mail Server. I remember it had a free version, but I don't know what became of it though...you can try.

Give MailEnable a try. Free and pretty easy to set up.

I can send you a copy of MS Exchange, but I dunno if it will be simple enough for you

Thanks for the offer, but I have managed to setup MailEnable now, and it works like a treat.
