I want to verify a msn adress of mine but it ain't working at all.

What I do is this:

1. Log on to msn - I instantly get the message that I need to verify. I click that message.

2. I get to the windows live page where I can log in. I do that.

3. "If you wanna use this e-mail adress you have to verify it's yours.", then I click the "send e-mail" so I can get the verification link.

4. The e-mail has been sent to my inbox.

5. I try to access the inbox but it says that I don't have any. To get that I have to sign up to windows live hotmail.


The reason it isn't working is probably because I did my own adress, I used my first name before the @ and my last name instead of a typical "hotmail.com".

So how can I possibly verify without accessing my inbox (which I dont have)? Is it possible to send that verification mail to another e-mail of mine (but so it still verifies my new one...)?

Your account name has to be a valid e-mail address, capable of receiving mail. And you can't send the verification mail to another e-mail address because it can only be sent to your account name, which is supposed to be a valid e-mail address.

...which means I cannot use my last name instead of a "live.com" or "hotmail.com" adress? The only way I could customize my msn like that would be to buy the actual domain, huh?

Shame. I was really looking forward a cool msn adress.

Indeed, the address you use must be an existing one (not necessarily a Hotmail or Live one) since the verification email is sent to that address.
