Instead of the PING and PONG! thing why doesnt Plus! have a feature that if its enabled it will allow the other person to know that he/she has Plus! It can also be easy disabled. The reason i ask this is because if i Ping somebody and they dont have plus imma gonna look bad ... Another if Plus! detects its not on the other computer then maybe it wouldnt send formats in the nickname. Maybe plugins can use this too.
