Yahoo! has announced that it will soon be offering one gigabyte of space to customers who use the company’s free webmail service. The announcement comes at a time when competition in the market is heating up.
The one gigabyte is four times the amount that free webmail users receive now, and equal to that offered by Google’s Gmail service. Yahoo! said during today’s announcement that the upgrade will begin towards the end of April.
The company expects the process to take approximately two weeks in total. Also, Yahoo! have promised better virus protection to users of their free service with virus-removal tools previously only available to paying customers.
