RE: MSN will not open
I have the same problem, I have Windows Vista 32, and the Windows live just simply stop working I used it everyday. Now today doesen't launch, It gives that error "configuration side-by-side bla blabla" and I searched in Event Viewer It apears me this:
Falha ao gerar o contexto de activação para "C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe". Erro no ficheiro de manifesto ou de política na linha . Uma versão de componente requerida pela aplicação entra em conflito com outra versão de componente já activa. Os componentes em conflito são:. Componente 1: C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\x86_microsoft.vc90.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.4148_none_5090ab56bcba71c2.manifest. The ID is 78, sorry Im portuguese so my windows is in PT, let me know If u guys need me to translate the log thing I just copy paste it =X sorry.Hope u guys could help me, I need my msn back.
